Fresh Spring Onion Fritters

Fresh spring onion fritters are so easy to make yet delicious. A great treat or snack served as an appetizer/ meze/ tapas. Everyone loves appetizers, isn't it?

(Around 20-25 pieces)


15-20 fresh spring onions

3 eggs

1/2 cup of milk

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/5 cup lukewarm water

300gr all purprose flour

1 tbsp. salt


Sunflower oil for frying


🔸 Cut onions into slices and place them in a big bowl.

🔸 Add salt and squeeze until onions bolt.

🔸 In a bowl add eggs and whisk them.

🔸 Add eggs to the bowl with the onions.

🔸 Add baking powder to the cup of milk, stir and add to the onions.

🔸 Add rest of the ingredients and at the end add gradually the flour.

🔸 Heat sunflower oil in a pan.

🔸 When ready, carefully add a small amount of the mixture by using a big spoon.

🔸 Fry each side for about 2 minutes or until golden.

🔸 Serve with yoghurt or a yoghurt sauce.
